Job Corps
Job Corps is a place that offers young men and women between
the ages of 16 and 24 the opportunity to learn a trade,
learn life
skills, and to finish their academic education by earning a
GED or High
School diploma. Job Corps was created in 1964 to give
economically
disadvantaged youths with the skills needed to become
productive,
taxpaying members of society. Job Corps is a federally funded
residential training program administered by the Department of Labor.
Job Corps ties together education and job training experiences with each
individual’s personal commitment to build a better future.
